Crystal Cruises is back in 2018 with two separate world cruises that can actually be considered four separate voyages, thanks to some clever timing on Crystal’s part.

Crystal Symphony sails two World Cruise 2018 itineraries, both of which depart on January 7, 2018 from Cape Town, South Africa. Guests can elect to sail 114 days to Miami, Florida, or stay onboard while the ship crosses the Atlantic to create a 129-day journey that ends in Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy.

So how is that possible when these two itineraries sail in separate directions? Simple: Guests aboard Crystal Symphony disembark their ship in Sydney, Australia and embarkCrystal Serenity to continue their world journey.

Of course, this guest swap works both ways: guests sailing aboard Crystal Serenity fromLos Angeles, California can elect to stay with the ship all the way to Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy (a journey of 114 days), or they can disembark in Sydney and hop aboard Crystal Symphony in order to end their journey in Miami, Florida.

One world cruise on two separate ships? Sounds good to us.

Cunard Line World Cruise 2018

Cunard Line’s Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth do the heavy lifting in 2018, sailing full World Cruise journeys, while Queen Victoria sails “shorter” Grand Voyages that are less than 100 days in length.

Whew. After all that exploration, you might need to book another cruise just to recoup.

Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth sets out on her 2018 World Cruise roundtrip from Southampton, England on January 7, 2018. She sails a westbound itinerary that whisks her guests across the Atlantic to the Caribbean, Central America, the Panama Canal, the Western Coast of the United States, New Zealand, Australia, the South Pacific, Japan, China, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Western Europe.

Oceania World Cruise 2018

Oceania’s Insignia returns to World Cruise duty in 2018, sailing another massive six-month exploration of the planet. Departing on January 3, 2018 from Miami, Insignia spends 10 days cruising the Caribbean before heading down to Brazil. From there, she crosses the Atlantic bound for Namibia and South Africa, with overnights in both Walvis Bay and Cape Town. Sailing around the horn of South Africa, she makes her way to Mozambique, Madagascar, Tanzania, the Seychelles, the Maldives, India, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific before returning to Miami via the West Coast, Mexico, Central America, and the Panama Canal.

Regent Seven Seas World Cruise 2018

Regent’s Navigate the World voyage departs on January 8, 2018 from Los Angeles and spans 137 days in length. Along the way, Seven Seas Navigator will call on 64 ports in 28 countries, visit 28 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and explore five separate continents. Guests will also be treated to five overnight stays in cities around the world.

This will be followed by ports of call in the Caribbean and Central America before Viking Sun transits the Panama Canal and heads for Asia, the Middle East, the Suez Canal, and the Mediterranean. Ending in London, England, Viking Sun’s guests will have visited 66 ports of call in 35 countries and five continents by the time the voyage concludes.

This is one of those ones you should book sooner rather than later; with the buzz around Viking’s new oceangoing ships showing no sign of diminishing, it’s likely this one will sell out long before most of us have even had a chance to think of 2018.
