Silver Discoverer: Ship Review from Ralph Grizzle on Vimeo.
Transcript:
This beach in this remote village in Russia’s Far East marks the end of wonderful two-week voyage on Silversea Expeditions’ Silver Discoverer. We witnessed spectacles of nature. We spent time in Zodiacs photographing walruses. We saw whales and hundreds of Orcas and we saw lots of bear.
It’s also been a culturally invigorating voyage. We met native people. We watch ceremonies and dance ceremonies. We even met the elusive reindeer herders. But I want to show you the ship that got us there and took us around. Let’s take a look around Silver Discoverer.
Silver Discoverer is first and foremost an expedition vessel, with Zodiacs taking guests to the most remote regions in the world, but what’s she like on the inside?
Silver Discoverer has a broad category of suites, including the King Daddy of them all, the Medallion Suite on deck 6. It features a separate living and sleeping space and a veranda.
Also on deck 6 is the Veranda Suite. Now it’s spacious as well but it features a separate living area instead of a separate living room. It also features a veranda.
Aft on deck 6 are the Vista Suites. While these do not feature verandas they do feature large windows that look out onto the sea and all that you’re passing on your expedition voyage.
On decks three, four and five are the somewhat smaller View and Explorer Suites.
No matter what category you book, you’ll enjoy the services of a butler, and that can turn your expedition cruise into a luxury expedition experience.
And in some categories, laundry service is included free of charge.
Dining on Silver Discoverer is an affair to remember. The food is as good as it looks.
And of course, complimentary beverages are included as on all Silversea vessels.
There are four dining venues, if you include room service and why wouldn’t you? For dinner, there’s the Restaurant on deck 3 and for breakfast and lunch, most guests choose the Discoverer Lounge on five.
The Grill, a Signature dining venue on Silversea, is situated on the Pool Deck and operates even in cooler weather. Even on chilly evenings, I love the sizzle of a good steak. On warmer evenings, special dinners are sometimes hosted on the Pool Deck.
I hope I’ve given you a taste of what you can expect on this expedition vessel. Of course, the real magic of Silver Discoverer exists in the life-changing experiences that it can help you discover.
