Cruise Specialists Voyage Host Tom Mullen started a great tradition of sending us postcards throughout his trip last year and we loved them so much, we asked that he do it again during his current 2015 Tales of the South Pacific.
There is something special about opening the mailbox to discover a handwritten note and a beautiful photo from a friend.
“Sailing in and out of San Francisco was great and even greater to have met all of you.” {We loved our send off party too, Tom!}
“A quick dash over to the landmark hotel from the pier and just bumped in to some {Cruise Specialists} world voyage passengers!” This 1888 Victorian hotel is just a short drive over the bridge from downtown San Diego and offers great beach front views from what was once the largest hotel in the US.“After a lovely 6 days at sea, sailed in to Hilo. As we docked everyone was given a lovely lei of purple {flowers}.” Hilo is the largest city on the big Island of Hawaii and is settled upon two volcanoes, one of which is still considered active.
“It’s a wonder view of Lahaina from the ship, as we anchored off shore. It’s a beautiful day as always here.” This historic town is now a main stay of tourism in Maui with the art galleries and fine dining now find inside the historic shops along Front Street.
“As always sailing into Honolulu is great. Tonight off to Germaine’s luau, Hawaiian food and dancing.” This traditional luau is set oceanside to give you the full effect of being transported through the story of the islands through music and dance by kane (men) and wahine (women).
Stay tuned for the next round of updates from Tom!
